New Beginnings

Over the past couple of years I’ve gone back and forth about what I want to host at kylekwiedacz.com.

I’ve tried to host a wordpress site, too old and slow. In addition you hear various horror stories of some plugin with a crazy vulnerability that allows your site to be taken over.

I gave Ghost a try, but didn’t want to host it myself, so too expensive and limited in feature set for the cheapest plan.

Then I tried to build a custom site using Gatsby.js, but that allowed too much room for visual customization, so I was in analysis paralysis about what it should look like.

Hence I’ve landed on hosting my own Ghost instance, so a winding journey and I really wish I had taken that backup of my old managed Ghost site, so I wouldn't have to restart here.

Here I plan on sharing interesting things I’ve learned, things are on my mind, things I am working on, and having a place to share my photos.

Hope someone will find this useful, if not somewhat entertaining.
